Fingerpainting DIY

Today, we fingerpainted with Kayla.

At the beginning, she was really curious about the activity. The texture of the homemade paint (recipe below) really interested her.


Sadly, though, she quickly got bored with it and decided to just play around with the paint containers after 20 minutes.

Here is our final product!

Develops:

  • Creativity
  • Fine motor skills
  • Hand-eye coordination

Things you will need:

  • Non-toxic paint (recipe follows)
  • Large paper such as Manila paper or Cartolina
  • Apron or large bib
  • Optional: stamps, paint brushes or other painting tools

Non-toxic paint recipe

  • 190g (3/4 cup) cold water
  • 15g (2 Tbsp) corn starch
  • Food coloring

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan on medium heat. Whisk until gelatinous and transfer to individual containers for each color.
